Have you been wondering just what all this gay marriage brouhaha is about? Were you surprised to discover that same-sex couples cannot be legally married when you showed up at the Municipal Building with you homosexual partner and the $35 the city requires to tie the knot? Or did those well-groomed fellows that run the corner florist shop explain it to you very slowly at the after-mass coffee in the basement of St. Pat’s?
Let Them Eat Cake is a fabulous piece of theatre right out of the Homosexual Agenda Playbook that opens these questions up to the light of scrutiny from all the complicated angles. It’s a wedding gone awry that’s forced into the hands of the guests to redeem, complete with strident politicos, supportive liberals, emotional meltdowns, colorful relatives and random kooks. The object of the game is to put all opinions into the mix and get to the reward of cake at the end. Brought to you by Holly “Guggenheim” Hughes, Megan “Pathfinder” Carney, Moe “Bessie” Angelos and a talented crop of New York’s queerest performers.
